SCT 2017 will take place in Amsterdam !

After the great success in June 2014 in Braunschweig, the International Conference on Steels in Cars and Trucks will take place in Amsterdam (May 07 - 11, 2017).

Nearly 400 participants from 22 countries visited Braunschweig (Germany) to join more than 110 presentations from industry and research.

In the Opening Session the high grade representatives Hans Jürgen Kerkhoff, Steel Institute VDEh and German Steel Federation, Hans Jörg Fuhrmann, Salzgitter AG and Christian Strube, Volkswagen AG, steered the delegates to the following sessions. Afterwards Hans Jürgen Kerkhoff opened the exhibition.

Together with more than 20 sponsors and exhibitors, the Main Sponsors Salzgitter AG and Volkswagen AG created a room for knowing the newest products and for networking during the 3 days at the accompanying exhibition.

‘Bringing the automotive, supplier and steel industries together’ is one of the two goals behind this year’s SCT 2014. This motto reinforces what the modern steel industry is all about: partnerships across value chains being made up of industry, research and development professionals.

The second motto of SCT 2014 is: ‘Future trends in steel development, processing technologies and applications’. The ability to steadily innovate one of the traditional and most innovative materials for industrial use is reflected in the increasing amount of steel being consumed across the world. Steel delivers a lot of solutions for solving such future global challenges as living and mobility in megacities or the preservation of material resources due to steel’s excellent possibilities for recycling.

We would already like to thank the sponsors and exhibitors, in particular Salzgitter and Volkswagen for becoming exclusive Platinum Sponsors; Georgsmarienhütte, SSAB, ThyssenKrupp and voestalpine for becoming Gold Sponsors, Tata Steel Europe as a silver Sponsor; as well as other Item Sponsors and several exhibitors. Also, the speakers and the many event supporters throughout the world who are actively promoting SCT 2014 deserve our special thanks.
